Tales for life👄 Training wheels.
Training wheels.
I’m thinking about training wheels today and invite you to join me in thinking about them. These important items that helped us get through certain stages of our lives. Those cherished items we eventually outgrew. Entry level aids if you like. These are the items we’re thinking about today.
I used to work in a primary educational establishment and I can tell you that the tricycles are a popular choice at nursery class playground playtime. A young child will only agree to ride a bicycle if you agree to hold it up for them and not let go. It was all about balance in those days.
That’s one training wheel.
Unto The King Eternal,
Unto The King Invincible - Don Moen.
- I once declared a certain song as my favourite worship song but the year after, The Spirit laid it on my heart to give it away. That seems to be the beginning of my foray into worship music. I like so many and now watch out for new songs so we can sing brand new songs unto The Lord every day for He is good and Worthy to be praised.
So many training wheels to let go of at the right time or they become detrimental to one’s emotional, mental and physical health. And growth. So many firsts. First job, my first car, my first wristwatch, my first school.
My first flat; one room in the boy’s quarters of an apartment block where I spent most of my undergraduate years. Most people who have the PlayStation 5 today started with a one but no-one goes back to play with those. Rather they put them up against each other and critique. Your first bedtime or mealtime prayer that taught us to be thankful.
Now, I lay me down to sleep, I pray thee , Lord, my soul to keep, Keep us safely through the night and wake us with the morning light. God bless mummy and daddy too. Make me a good girl, Amen. I used to say it with my sister before we went to bed. So many bossy children back then and not one please in sight.
Some have food but cannot eat, some can eat but have no food, we have food and we can eat. Glory… and Thanks to God on High.
Refectory song at secondary school.
Now, we make declarations and write post-it notes. My junior brother gave me my first television. It was a ten inch Phillips t.v in 1998. My son lets us use his 42 inch now. My first shoes that I remember were tiny, red Mary-Janes that I adored. I loved them while I had them. Still remember and love them.
